Our Long Term Travel Plans

I've always been a planner.

When I was in Primary School I was obsessed with stationary and organisation. I even had my own filo-faxes and plastic wallets for all my "important" information. Y'know, all those bills, newsletters and play-date itineraries that any other normal 10 year old has...

I'm not sure whether this was related to my anxiety, even at such a young age, or I just loved having a plan but it carried through to my adult years (even though my love for stationary has diminished slightly!).

This is why the thought of long term travel around the world with no end date, strict itinerary or home base gives me slight heart palpitations!

But I feel an overwhelming need to do this.

After finishing college and spending the next 5 years behind a desk, I realised that the corporate life isn't for me. Life is too short to spend the majority of my day essentially making someone else's dream come true. When I look back at my life in 20 years time, I want to remember all the amazing experiences I've had and people I've met rather than wondering why I worked so much to fit all my travelling into a fixed amount of annual leave allowance.

It's happening! In less than 12 months time, I'll be stuffing my life into a backpack and setting off on the quest of world travel with my amazing boyfriend by my side. We have a rough plan of our first few trips which I've outlined in the map below:

As much as it pains me to say it... this plan is very flexible! If we like a place, we'll stay for longer. If we don't, we'll move onto the next. If we want to get off the beaten track, we'll go roaming! The joys of long term travel!!

It's going to be a challenge.

But I'm ready! I'm ready to see amazing things, meet amazing people and stay in amazing places. I'm ready to kick my anxiety up the ass and prove that I can do it!

So follow along and wish me luck  :-D
