Advice for Travel Related Anxiety

Travelling with Anxiety is HARD. Between planning everything to the last detail and assuming the worst if anything changes, it can be exhausting AF. I’ve had my fair share of solo trips as well as my period of long term travel so it’s about time I shared some advice for minimising anxiety when it comes to travelling.

Nearly Losing a Toe in Africa

OK so some people will say that title is exaggerated but they don’t know. It was Day 32 on our Africa Tour and we were on the truck making our way to the Otjitotongwe Cheetah Park (try saying that fast!). Our truck was called “Ben” and he had been quite reliable until he took a few days off in Livingstone. The door to the back of the truck had a lock on it one day but not the next.

2 Nights at Malealea Lodge in Lesotho

The lodge offered both camping facilities and traditional Mud Hut accommodation. We opted to upgrade our camping to a Mud Hut (for 200 RAND pp/pn) since we had been told that it can get VERY cold at night. Lesotho is located about 1800m above sea level no it’s no surprise that it can get a bit chilly. It seems like we lucked out because we had two full days of sun when we were there (end of September time).

Holding Hands as a Gay Couple

I disappointed myself. When we were in Portugal, we spent the day at a water park. While we were walking around to get to the slides, Scott held my hand and I felt weirdly uncomfortable and let go. High Functioning Anxiety - Why I Don't Seem Anxious

They can't believe that the confident guy who has great work relationships, can also have an anxiety attack at the thought of making a dinner reservation.

Advice for Anxious Digital Nomads

Obviously, I'm an Anxious Digital Nomad. It goes without saying but if the thought of living a life with constant travel, uncertainty, flexibility and spontaneity scares you a little, you're not alone. Since I decided to travel full time, my mind has been flip flopping between extreme elation (OMG I'm going on a never-ending holiday how fucking cool is that) to the familiar state of extreme panic…

Plan the Perfect Weekend in Aberdeen, Scotland

Scott and I have become somewhat specialists of planning the perfect weekend stays in Aberdeen. Since Scott lived 30 miles north of Aberdeen and I lived 30 miles south, it quickly became our half way meeting point for spending time with each other. We both had full time jobs in the city center too so the majority of our time was spent living the city life.

Toilet Terror in Killarney, Ireland

At the start of my journey as a blogger, I thought it would be a smart idea to invest in a ticket to TBEX (Travel Blogger Exchange). It's a conference for Travel Bloggers & Industry Professionals to gather from all around the world and network, learn skills and get a bit drunk. It became one of the best decisions I could have made but I'm still amazed I actually did it!
